Let's say you want to record something but not live stream it or you had some internet issues and were not able to get your stream up and running. If you recorded your event, then you are in luck. This section will cover some common reasons as to why you would use the Media Manager and how to upload custom media to the portal.
Why Use Media Manager
Media Manager allows for you to upload your very own custom media without having to stream it live. Many use this feature in case you have an equipment or network failure. Others use it to upload an event that you couldn't stream live. As long as the video falls under the right requirements, which we will go over, then you will have the ability to upload any video you want. Here are a few reasons to use the Media Manager:
- Network failure
- Equipment failure
- Event recaps
- Award Banquets
- Press Conferences
Custom Media Video Requirements
The video format is very important for you in order make sure the video displays properly in the portal. Here are the requirements below:
- MP4 format
- H.264 format
- Less than 2GB file size
To start uploading custom media to your portal, go ahead and log in to the CMS. From there, you will see a link on the right hand side label Media Manager. See below.
After clicking on the Media Manager link, it will then take you the Media Manager home page which looks like this:
To get the process started, go ahead and click on the "Add Custom" button. This will take you to a new page where you will enter the information for the event. This includes the title, short and long descriptions of the event, and what type of content it is(Audio or Video).
Once you have entered that, you will then have to enter some additional information. Once you are all set, click "Save Details&Upload Archive". This button will take you to the final step where you will upload the video into our system. You will just click the "Choose File" button, and then "Upload". The process will then begin. After you are done, the video should now be in our system and ready to view!
