Intensity Shuttle

The Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle is a another capture device that can be used to bring elements of a broadcast into Wirecast. This device can bring in separate audio and video sources and output them as a single source through Thunderboldt or USB, depending on which shuttle you have. The Inensity Shuttle has inputs for HDMI, component, s-video, and composite connections, which allows a variety of setups to be used. For example, you can use the HDMI input for your video, and bring your audio in through the red/white composite source. And for simpler productions, the device can solely bring in a video source if you don't have any audio.

Setting up your Intensity Shuttle

  1. Download Desktop Video onto your laptop (blackmagicdesign.com/support). Again, be sure to read the descriptions on the download to see if it's compatible with your computer.
  2. Connect your cable the camera into the appropriate input on the Intensity Shuttle (HDMI, component, s-video, composite).
  3. If you have a separate audio mixer, connect that into the appropriate input.
  4. Connect the USB or Thunderbolt output(depending on which shuttle you have) into the computer.
  5. Open Desktop Video from the System Preferences on the computer.
  6. Change the Video and Audio Inputs so they match whatever setup you have going into the Intensity Shuttle.
